Las coles de Bruselas de Long Island son una variedad tradicional y popular de coles de Bruselas que son conocidas por sus abundantes rendimientos y sus sabrosos brotes:
Esta variedad semienana es compacta y produce entre 75 y 100 brotes de color verde oscuro de entre 2,5 y 5 cm de diámetro. Los brotes son dulces y se pueden recolectar durante un largo período de cosecha, de noviembre a enero.
Empiece a sembrar las semillas en el interior 4 o 5 semanas antes de la última helada y, luego, trasplántelas al exterior una vez que haya pasado el riesgo de heladas. Plántelas a una profundidad de ½ pulgada y aclaréelas una vez que las plantas alcancen una altura de 6 pulgadas.
