La col holandesa plana tardía es una variedad de col grande y de cabeza plana que es conocida por su cabeza sólida y su excelente sabor:
Cabezas grandes y planas con hojas de color verde azulado y un interior de color verde claro cremoso. Las cabezas pueden crecer hasta 15 libras (7 kg) y 12 pulgadas de ancho.
Tiene un sabor un poco más dulce si se cosecha cuando es más pequeño.
Se puede comer crudo, rallado para hacer ensalada de col, o utilizado en guisos, ensaladas o salteado. También es una opción popular para hacer chucrut.
Prefiere temperaturas de 50 a 75 °F, suelo rico y bien drenado con un pH de 6,0 a 7,5 y exposición total al sol. Es tolerante a las heladas y se puede plantar para cosechar a principios de verano o finales de otoño.
