Good to know

Fast-maturing specialty brassica that produces harvestable 2–3 inch bulbs in just 55–60 days
Deep purple skin provides magnificent color contrast in kitchen garden beds and fresh market displays
Excellent cold hardiness, with fall-grown bulbs developing a noticeably sweeter, richer flavor after light frosts

Bulbs must be harvested when young (2–3 inches in diameter) to ensure the flesh remains tender, sweet, and stringless
Requires consistent soil watering to prevent bulb splitting or development of tough, fibrous tissue
