Brussel Sprouts, Long Island

Long Island Brussels sprouts are a popular, heirloom variety of Brussels sprouts that are known for their heavy yields and flavorful sprouts: 
This semi-dwarf variety is compact and produces 75–100 dark green sprouts that are 1–2 inches in diameter. The sprouts are sweet and can be picked over a long harvest period from November to January. 
Start seeds indoors 4–5 weeks before the last frost, and then transplant them outdoors after the risk of frost has passed. Plant them at a depth of ½ inch, and thin them out once the plants reach a height of 6 inches.
