Description
Coneflower Paradiso Tall Mix (Echinacea purpurea) is a spectacular, hardy perennial mixture bred for extra tall, sturdy stems, vibrant floral colors, and reliable garden performance. Reaching 30 to 40 inches in height, it produces large daisy-like blossoms featuring prominent, glowing orange-bronze central cones surrounded by overlapping, gently drooping petals in shades of bright magenta, rose-pink, soft yellow, white, and warm orange. Highly attractive to butterflies, bees, and goldfinches, Paradiso Tall Mix blooms continuously from midsummer straight through autumn. An outstanding choice for perennial borders, native prairie plantings, cutting gardens, and low-maintenance pollinator habitats.
Color:
Brilliant mix of rich magenta, glowing pink, bright yellow, warm orange, pure white with deep bronze-orange central cones
Plant Characteristics:
Upright, sturdy branching habit (30–40 inches tall / 75–100 cm), large 3.5–5 inch single blooms, rigid dark green stems, rough lance-shaped foliage, exceptionally long bloom window
Best Time for Sowing (Zone 6b):
Start indoors late January to March (cold stratify seeds in a damp paper towel in the fridge for 2–3 weeks before sowing for best germination); transplant outdoors May. Alternatively, direct sow outdoors in autumn (September to October) for natural winter stratification / robust spring emergence.
Sunlight:
Full Sun (6+ hours direct sunlight daily; tolerates light partial shade)
Watering Needs:
Low to Moderate (requires light moisture to establish; highly drought-heat-tolerant once rooted)

Good to know
Extremely hardy perennial that returns year after year, forming expanding, floriferous clumps
Outstanding drought tolerance and low maintenance requirements, thriving in hot, sunny conditions and poor soils
Dual-purpose wildlife magnet—nectar attracts butterflies and bees all summer, while dried seed cones feed songbirds in winter
When grown from seed, plants focus on root establishment in year one, blooming heavily from their second season onward
Germination can be slow and irregular without a brief period of cold, damp stratification before sowing
