    Description

Lettuce 'Black Seeded Simpson' (Lactuca sativa) is a legendary open-pollinated heirloom dating back to the mid-19th century. Renowned for its rapid growth, extreme adaptability, and high cold hardiness, it forms large, upright, loose bunches of crumpled, deeply savoyed light-green foliage. The leaves offer an exceptionally tender, crisp texture with a sweet, delicate flavor profile. Maturing in as little as 40 to 45 days, it is one of the fastest spring lettuce varieties available. Excellent for early spring plantings, late fall crops, or continuous cut-and-come-again harvesting in home gardens, raised beds, and patio containers.
