Description
Lovage (Levisticum officinale) is a grand heirloom herb cherished for its bold, intense flavor profile resembling concentrated celery with warm undertones of parsley and anise. A towering perennial that can reach heights of 6 feet, it forms impressive mounds of glossy, deeply cut green foliage topped by large, umbrella-like clusters of yellow flowers in mid-summer. Highly valued in traditional European cuisine, every part of the plant—leaves, stems, roots, and seeds—is edible, making it an essential, long-lived addition to savory stocks, soups, stews, and herbal seasonings.
