Poppy Icelandic (Papaver nudicaule) is a stunning, short-lived perennial prized for its large, translucent, crepe-paper-like blossoms atop slender, wiry stems. Rising 12 to 24 inches above a low basal rosette of blue-green foliage, it produces 2- to 4-inch cup-shaped flowers in a brilliant mix of glowing yellow, orange, salmon, rose, cream, and pure white with golden centers.
