Chantenay carrots are a variety of carrot that are short, stout, and have a sweet and crunchy texture:
Chantenay carrots have orange-red cores and light orange flesh. They are typically 4–5 inches long and 2–2.5 inches thick.
Chantenay carrots are sweet and crisp, and can be eaten raw or cooked.
Chantenay carrots are often used for canning and processing, but can also be eaten fresh or frozen.
Chantenay carrots are easy to grow and can be planted in containers. They should be planted in deep soil and thinned to 2–4 inches apart when the seedlings are 2 inches tall.
